For future zoo plans, check OC Parks.

Weekdays do not require reservations; October 31 and November 1 also do not require reservations. Earlier peak-season weekends had different rules.

Activity tickets are $8 each or 15 for $100. Irvine Regional Park vehicle entry is separate: $3 weekdays, $5 weekends and $7 holidays. Check the event's current entry terms before arriving; an activity-ticket price is not an all-inclusive outing price.

Halloween & Fall Events in Costa Mesa

Best Halloween Events in Orange County for Kids

If you're looking for family-friendly Halloween activities in Orange County, trunk-or-treat events, pumpkin patches and daytime community festivals are some of the easiest options for younger children. Choose an outing around your child's comfort with crowds, costume activities and walking rather than trying to fit every attraction into one day.

  • A local evening: First Team Real Estate Trunk or Treat, October 29, 5–7 PM; ask the organizer about any age or participation rules.
  • A farm day: Tanaka Farms in Irvine or Hana Field in Costa Mesa; reserve your preferred date and review what admission includes.
  • A park outing: Irvine Park Railroad's patch in Orange; budget for activities and separate park vehicle entry.
  • For next year's planning: the OC Zoo's October 24 Zoo-tacular has already passed in 2026; it is not an upcoming Halloween-week option.

Free Halloween Events in Orange County

Free admission is not the same as a completely free outing. Check parking, ticketed activities, food and reservation terms separately. We have not been given an admission policy for First Team Trunk or Treat, so it is not labeled free here. Tanaka Farms and Hana Field are paid attractions; park entry and railroad activities also have separate costs.

The City of Newport Beach confirmed free admission for its October 24 Spooktacular, now past; food purchases were extra. We have not confirmed an upcoming free-admission event among the remaining listings. An RSVP link alone does not prove an event is free.
